Counter Action is a real-time tactics game played from a top-down perspective. The game takes place during World War II and features two campaigns: one for the Soviet Union and one for the Third Reich. Each campaign consists of 14 missions. Counter Action does not use the mechanics of base building and resource management. The player can't produce new units, but is allowed to request reinforcements up to 4 times depending on the mission's rules.

In 2001, FireGlow Games, a company formed by the former employees of Nashi Igry, released Sudden Strike, which was marketed in Russia as a direct sequel to Counter Action.
I can honestly say never took to a strategy game. I personally always loved FPS games like Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Tom Clancy's, Far Cry etc. So, I thought why not have a change of scene and give it a go. Counter Action does have something unique and original about it from the missions, the game design even the 2 amazing campaigns you can choose the game is in real time which is an excellent advantage so you plan your next move. The opening game scene is well done and captures what war actually is. I love the atmosphere and the old school feeling. It really has the 90's vibe going for you. The missions are sometimes tricky at first go, but you will get used to it as you play along. Definitely a must buy for a strategy war fan.
